DPI, GUYANA, Friday, October 26, 2018

Minister of Business, Dominic Gaskin today opened an Ashley Furniture Homestore outlet and expressed the hope it generates more business interest in Guyana.

“Self-interest drives business, businesses create opportunities for other businesses; the more businesses operating in Guyana the more opportunity there are to do business in Guyana,” Minister Gaskin said.

The Minister reiterated that Guyana is an ideal and profitable place to conduct business. The Ashley Homestore is located in the Giftland Mall, Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara.

The furniture store is another flagship for Unicomer Group which already comprises Courts, Lucky Dollar and Radio Shack. Managing Director, Clyde de Haas said it is a proud moment for Unicomer.

“The interest of our customers in the Ashley products was an encouragement to offer the full-fledged Ashley experience that you can only get at Ashley Homestore,” de Haas noted.

Ashley’s has made a big investment in the Homestore concept, representative Jesus Dacal noted.

“Our goal is to develop a strong relationship with our global retail partners to help make them successful in managing the Ashley Homestore brand. Ashley looks forward to a bright future in Guyana,” Dacal said.

Ashley’s is the number one furniture retailer in North America. It was founded in 1945 and has outlets in 123 countries across the world.
