March 13, 2020. Georgetown, Guyana – The Mayor and Councillors of the City of Georgetown wishes to inform the general public of the closure of the Municipal Day Care Centers: South Road, East Ruimveldt, Festival City and Industrial Site, for a period of two weeks with effect from Monday, March 16, 2020.

The Ministry of Public Health has confirmed one fatality from COVID-19. The Council believes that public health is a primary concern and has taken a decision to follow the national guidelines.

The Council regrets any inconvenience the closure of our Day Care Centers may cause to parents and guardians.
