His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, today, said he has no doubt the upcoming engagement with former Guyanese Heads of State will be fruitful.

Dr Ali, earlier this month, extended an invitation to the former Presidents to discuss Guyana’s development. The meeting is scheduled for December 15.

“We have an engagement with all former presidents that I am looking forward to and I am very confident that it will be a fruitful engagement and all of Guyana will see all the former Presidents acting responsibly and being part of that engagement,” Dr Ali said.

He said the invitation was extended in the interest of inclusiveness and in keeping with a pledge he made during his inauguration. He said he anticipates the attendance of all the former Presidents.

President Ali had said the engagement will provide an opportunity to share ideas, and work out a model and a framework on engagements in the future.

The surviving former Presidents are current Vice President Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, Mr. David Granger, Mr. Donald Ramotar and Mr. Samuel Hinds.
