President Ali, India’s High Commissioner discuss COVID assistance

President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, His Excellency, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, this afternoon, met with the High Commissioner of India to Guyana, His Excellency, Dr. K.J. Srinivasa, at State House.

Minister of Health, Hon. Dr. Frank Anthony, was also part of the meeting which was held to streamline assistance from India to Guyana, in the fight against the novel coronavirus disease.

Earlier this week, President Ali had told media operatives that the Government is in talks with the Indian Government, and other stakeholders, to mobilise resources in the fight against the pandemic.

Coronavirus disease spreads primarily through contact with an infected person when they cough or sneeze. It also spreads when a person touches a surface or object that has the virus on it, then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth. We urge citizens to practice good hygiene and social or physical distancing also adhere to the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health, Guyana.
