Press Release – GMC appoints New General Manager

The New Guyana Marketing Corporation (NGMC) on November 16, 2020, welcomed on board Ms. Teshawna Lall as its new General Manager.

Ms. Lall, who has confidently stepped into her new role as the NGMC’s General Manager, brings with her over 18 years of experience in Marketing, Publishing, and Accounting. She also has experience in the manufacturing and distribution of local and international products.

Ms. Lall has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Business Management.

In her new role as GM, Ms. Lall will oversee all aspects of the Corporation and will work towards “revamping” the image of the Corporation.

“I want to ensure agriculture is on the forefront. We will develop new and innovative ideas to put NGMC on the map and to ensure we work on aggressively marketing our local products,” Ms. Lall said.

“We will work toward fostering relationships with our farmers to ensure they continue to trust the NGMC,” she added.

Ms. Lall said she will ensure the NGMC continues to create regional and international markets for farmers. This, she said, will give farmers a reason to continue farming.

Ms. Lall stated that, in her role as GM, more focus will be placed on the logistics of getting fresh and agro-processed produce from far-flung areas to the city at an affordable cost.

“We will work to reduce the cost of production to make farming affordable. Most farmers have stopped planting because it has become expensive to do so…we want more farmers to start producing again,” she explained.

Ms. Lall is pleased to have been given this opportunity and looks forward to building a strong relationship with the Corporation’s staff and its other stakeholders.
