Region Three voters expecting positive results

Residents of the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara, Region Three communities are turning out in their numbers to cast their ballots at the various Polling stations at this year’s Local Government Elections (LGE).

Many of the voters expressed satisfaction in the voting process and said they look forward to positive results this evening. “I cannot predict who will win, but whatever the results I hope that all in the region can benefit,” said Meten-Meer-Zorg Voter, Suraj Lall.

So far, Department of Public Information (DPI) was able to cover several Polling stations in the Vergenoogen, Farm, Meten-Meer-Zorg, Uivulgt and Stewartville locations.

Polls are expected to close this evening at 18:00hors. According to GECOM’s Public Relations Officer, Yolanda Ward the results are expected to be out by 20:00 hours.
