State Assets Recovery Agency launches “Lash it out” T20 cricket Match

The State Assets Recovery Agency (SARA) as part of its efforts to stamp out corruption and to raise public awareness, today launched its “Lash it out” T20 cricket match to be held on July 13 at the Demerara Cricket Club.

Media and Communications Officer, Melissa Davy said the agency has embarked on a campaign dubbed “Corruption is everybody’s business” and the match forms part of that initiative.

“This match is a vehicle we are using to sensitise youth on how they can play their role in fighting corruption,” she said.

The two competing teams are the Ferocious Jaguars and Super Sixers and comprise 30 players, among them British High Commissioner, Gregg Quinn, entrepreneur Rosh Khan, journalist, Travis Chase, Rawle Ferguson and Kerwin Bollers of Hits and Jams Entertainment and politician Charles Ramson Jr.

Sponsors of the event include the National Sports Commission, the Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission, Banks DIH Limited, BLB Sports, Impressions, HJ 94.1, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and Fly Jamaica, among others.

A lucky spectator will receive a trip to Canada or the USA compliments of Fly Jamaica. Each spectator, upon entering the venue will receive a number to compete in a draw.

SARA’s Legal Advisor, Ronald Bostwick said the “Lash it out” match is ideal to SARA’s mandate of eliminating as far as possible, corruption in Guyana.
