He made the comments minutes after emerging from the Umana Yana at High Street Kingston, where he, along with coalition members presented the party’s list of candidates for the upcoming polls.

“I am satisfied that all six parties have complied with the criteria, about gender, generation, about geographic, and competence. We went through the process and it is the best list, it is a winning list,” President Granger told media operatives.

The Head of State said the Coalition has a proven record and noted that the list of persons presented on the list, will “do proud in the National Assembly, in the Regional Democratic Council and Cabinet.”

He said the list has a balance of gender, youth and geographical spread.

President Granger Led the 20 member team,  alongside Leader of the Alliance for Change (AFC) and Minister of Public Security Khemraj Ramjattan and Director General of the Ministry of the Presidency Joseph Harmon.

Later the Coalition released a statement in which it was stated that the candidates nominated to represent the party are competent to lead in the National Assembly and the Regional Democratic Councils, and enjoy the full backing of the Coalition members and supporters.

The release further stated that under the Coalition administration there has been a rebalancing of the national economy and revival of local village economies.  It was noted that with the “Decade of Development” plan the transformation and development witnessed over the past four years will continue apace under the Coalition.
