Residents of Region 5 were today reminded that the Coalition Government is a government for all.

Minister within the Ministry of Finance, Jaipaul Sharma made the comments at a meeting with residents of Bush Lot at the Latchmansingh Primary School following the conclusion of the fifth government outreach which was held in Fort Wellington.

The minister said that he is aware of attempts being made by the opposition to deter residents from attending the government outreaches. He noted that the opposition operates as though they have ownership of certain regions and communities. However, the minister underscored the fact that the Coalition Government was elected to provide service to all Guyanese.

At the conclusion of the meeting, he was greeted by a handful of protestors. The minister took time to stop and speak with each of them to garner what concerns affected them.

“We want to help the people regardless of which political party they support, that is what the government is there for. The government is the government for all the people! If you are happy with the service, then we are doing our job; if we can improve the service to the people you tell us, that is the government’s job,” Minister Sharma said.
