More than sixty households, two schools, and a health post will soon benefit from potable water by the Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI).

According to GWI’s Hinterland Service Director, Ramchand Jailall, the GWI team are working to meet a September 2020 month-end deadline for the newly dug well to be up and running.

The residents were brought up to date on the plans for their community by Minister of Housing and Water, Hon. Colin Croal, and his team, during a visit to the area earlier today.

The newly dug well will serve as the community’s main water supply system. The remaining 10% of works, to have the system fully up, is being undertaken through community participation with help from the Village Council.

The well was funded through a collaboration with UNICEF.
