Reporting on the recount of the remaining Region One votes, Public Relations Officer (PRO) Yolanda Ward said agents were able to complete the process as the numbers on the ballots were visible.

Ward also disclosed that the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) is still awaiting word from the National COVID-19 Task Force (NCTF) regarding the commission’s request for an increase in the number of workstations at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre (ACCC).

The Commission is seeking to accelerate the recounting process to meet its 25-day timeline. The NCTF visited the ACCC on Thursday and inspected the proposed sites for the workstations.
