Foreign Minister meets with Acting UK High Commissioner
On Monday, January 25, 2021, Acting High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, Mr. Ross Denny, called upon Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Honourable Hugh Todd.
During the courtesy call, among mutual areas of interest, they discussed development, climate change, and the deepening of trade and bilateral relations.
The Acting High Commissioner and Foreign Minister also discussed the upcoming 2021
United Nations Climate Change Conference or COP26, which will be held in November in
Glasgow, Scotland, under the presidency of the UK.
Mr. Denny is currently the Acting High Commissioner to Guyana and Suriname. He most recently served as Ambassador to Costa Rica. A career diplomat, Mr. Denny has served in a number of positions in the British Foreign Service, including at Missions in Santiago, Chile; Doha, Qatar; Warsaw, Germany; and The Hague, among others. Guyana established diplomatic relations with the United Kingdom on May 26, 1966.
