Minister Norton spreads cheer throughout River’s View
December 17, 2018 – Minister of Social Cohesion, Dr. George Norton recently journeyed to his hometown in River’s View, Region 10 to spread the holiday cheer.
The Minister, who also holds responsibility for Culture, Youth and Sport, opened up his home in that community to all the community’s children.
There, in excess of 200 children were treated to a scrumptious meal and a spectacular Christmas party. Most of the delights came from the little ones dishing out their best moves and showing off their vocals by singing their favourite Christmas carols.
After a wonderful afternoon of fun, Minister Norton assumed the role of Santa Claus, distributing bags of goodies and gifts to each child.
“It gives me great pleasure that I am in a position to come back home and do this for the children of my home village. Christmas is a joyous season and I always look forward to seeing happy children this time of year. So, whatever role I can play in spreading the joy, I am always up for it,” Minister Norton said.
Dr. Norton was accompanied by staff members of his Secretariat, who assisted in making the fete a well-coordinated reality. A similar activity was held last year.
