MOE Press Statement
The Ministry of Education has taken note of a social media post regarding a recent robotics demonstration hosted by the Ministry as part of its efforts to engage possible partners to introduce robotics into primary schools.
In that post, several inaccuracies were peddled. With this statement, the Ministry of Education seeks to provide clarity on the said matter and put any lingering doubt or suspicion to rest.
The Education Ministry has not awarded a contract to any company or individual for the procurement of robotics to be introduced into primary schools. The Ministry of Education is currently looking at potential partners with a view of understanding the dynamics of this new frontier.
A transparent tendering process through the National Procurement and Tender Board Administration (NPTAB) will be done to select the most suitable partner that meets all the necessary requirements. The Ministry of Education will then work with that company or individual when they are selected to improve the quality of education that is offered to the nation’s children.
