Over $130 M to rehabilitate streets in Region #6

Several communities in Region Six (East Berbice /Corentyne) are to benefit from rehabilitated streets. This was announced today, by Minister of State, Joseph Harmon, during his post-cabinet media briefing.
The Minister indicated that Cabinet granted its “No Objection” to the award of contracts for rehabilitation works on Arjune Street, Hamshire Village; First Street, North Field, Joanna Village; High Dam, Caracas, West Canje; Second Cross Street #65 Village, Corentyne; Koker Dam, Fyrish Village; Middle Walk Dam, Liverpool Village; and Middle Walk Dam, Lancaster Village, Corentyne.
These works, Minister Harmon said, “are part of an ongoing programme to rehabilitate secondary and intercommunity roads across Region # 6, especially within communities that were neglected by the previous administration.”
The combined works will cost a total of $130,931,830 dollars.
