PM installs new GM and Board of Directors at Kwakwani Utilities Inc.
Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips, this afternoon installed a new General Manager (GM) and a new Board of Directors at the Kwakwani Utilities Incorporated (KUI).
The event, which was also attended by Minister of Public Works, the Honourable Juan Edghill, took place at the Recreational Hall of the Kwakwani Guest House.
David Adams was installed as the New GM, while Paris Archer was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
The other Directors are Pam Rambarran, Orlando Johashen, Kay Force, Sachie Parvaton, Gregory Harris, Jennifer Edwards, Aubrey Gobin, Delmos McPherson and Gibron Bacchus.
The Honourable Prime Minister Phillips charged the new officials to serve with distinction.
He added that during the elections period it was time for democracy and now that the Government is formed, it’s time for development.
The Prime Minister, who is responsible for energy, has been proactive in the execution of his duties. Last November he commissioned a 900-kilowatt generator in Kwakwani, to increase power production to 24-hour electricity in the community.
This year, KUI will receive a total of $490M in subvention, according to last month’s budget.
Following the installation, the Prime Minister and Minister Edghill held a community meeting with residents of the community at the Kwakwani Workers Club, to update them on Government’s plans and to listen to their concerns.
Prime Minister Phillips told the residents that they can look forward to a caring and productive Government and that they have a partner to help better develop their community.
He also used the opportunity to introduce the newly installed Board of Directors of KUI to the community.
