PM pays tribute to Betty Kallicharran

GEORGETOWN, Monday, December 18, 2017 – Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo on Sunday attended the funeral of the late Betty Kallicharran who was cremated at the Babu John Burial Site, Berbice.

Betty, a former sugar worker and union representative, was the eldest sister of Guyana’s cricket star Alvin Kallicharran.

In his remarks during the service at Tain, Berbice, the Prime Minister traced the relationship between the Kallicharran and Nagamootoo families and stated that his presence at the funeral was due to “family ties.”

He recounted his acquaintances with the deceased and remarked that she has been an outstanding mother and grandmother.

Prime Minister Nagamootoo flanked by Christina Peters and Mavis Nagamootoo both sisters of the deceased.
