Social Protection, Reg. Three donate to fire victim

The Ministry of Social Protection and the Region Three administration distributed several items to Cheryl Gordon who lost her home to a fire on Friday. September 7.
Gordon, a labourer at the GuySuCo Uitvlugt Estate, was not at her Sera Lodge, Stewartville WCD home when it was engulfed in flames.
Minister within in the Ministry of Social Protection Keith Scott made a monetary contribution to the family along with some household accessories and food items. The Regional Administration in collaboration with the Salvation Army, also donated household items to the family also inclusive of food items.
Gordon thanked her family, neighbours and friends for supporting her in this difficult time. She also thanked Minister Scott, Regional Executive Officer Denis Jaikaran and Salvation Army Major Matignol Saint-Lot for their kind gesture.
The community has committed to ensuring Gordon and her children can rebuild their home. The Guyana Fire Service is investigating the cause of the fire.
