Supplementary budgets for Finance Ministry granted
– policy and administration of its Low Carbon Development and Technical Assistance programmes approved

An infusion of $4.9M was unanimously approved for the Ministry of Finance’s provision of additional inflows to support its partnership with Norway. The amount will fund initiatives such as the Sustainable Land Management and Development Project, ICT access, and Hinterland, Poor and Remote communities’ E-services and the Green State Development Strategy.
Approval was also given for $47.5M in supplementary provisions for inflows under the Inter-American Development Bank’s technical support programme Management For Development Results (MfDR), to facilitate payments for consultancy for reforms estimated at $10.4M, acquisition of hardware and software for Budgeting for Results software (B4R) and Internal Audit Department, $30.6M and final payment for the Chartered Institute in Procurement and Supply (CIPS) training $6.5M.
In response to questions posed by the Opposition regarding the total revenue earned under the Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS), Minister Jordan said it amounted to more than $39.7Billion (US$190 Million), thus far. The Finance Minister added that approximately $313Billion (US$1.5Million) of this sum was allocated to the Green State Development Strategy.
