Christmas message -Minister of Social Cohesion With Responsibility for Culture, Youth and Sport Dr. George Norton

Today, Guyana joins the rest of the world in celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, the man that Christians believe to be the Son of God.

During this auspicious season of Christmas, it is important that we reflect on the ‘reason for the season.’ As we partake in all the festivities and celebration, we must remember the teachings of Christ, and try our utmost to emulate his honesty, compassion, kindness, forgiveness, love and respect for his fellow men.

Christmas is a time to shower our loved ones with love, forgive those who have wronged us, and help those who may be in need. So, let us do just that as we strive to achieve Social Cohesion and oneness among all Guyanese.

On behalf of my family, the Ministry of the Presidency, Department of Social Cohesion, Culture, Youth and Sport, I wish each of you a blessed Christmas and a Happy Boxing Day!

Minister of Social Cohesion
With Responsibility for Culture, Youth and Sport
Dr. George Norton.
