Circulation of Fake Letter on Social Media purportedly signed by Chief Election Officer

June 14, 2020, GEORGETOWN – The Secretariat of the Guyana Elections Commission has noted with concern the contents of a fake letter dated 13th June, 2020 and addressed to the Commissioner of Police purportedly signed by the Chief Election Officer.

The document which is being circulated on social media is bogus and tantamount to forgery since the use of CEO’s letterhead and signature may have been copied from another letter and used by the author to create mischief and cause confusion.

In this regard, persons are urged to desist from such illegal and mischievous actions.
