Education Minister visits Region Three communities

Last Saturday the Honourable Minister of Education Priya Manickchand visited four Region Three (Essequibo Island-West Demerara) communities, Belle Vue, Sisters village, Patentia and Vive-la-Force.

During discussions with residents, parents and students, the Education Minister explained what the Ministry of Education is doing to ensure learning continues and that children are continuously engaged during this time.

Minister Manickchand reminded residents that in addition to online teaching, the Learning Channel is being utilised to deliver daily lessons to students across all levels and grades. Residents were also encouraged to tune into their community radio stations for the Interactive Radio Instruction (IRI) programme and the Broadcast to Schools.

Residents were also encouraged to visit the MoE’s website on (education.gov.gy) to access past papers, textbooks, worksheets and other learning resources to assist with teaching and learning at this critical time.
