GNNL gets new Board of Directors

Prime Minister, Hon. Moses Nagamootoo, on Wednesday, presented instruments of appointment to the chairperson and directors of the reconstituted Board of Directors of the Guyana National Newspapers Limited (GNNL).

The new Chairperson is Juretha Fernandes, while Terrence Moore, Amar Panday, Dawn Gardner, Ernestine Leonard and Ganesh Mahipaul were sworn in as board members. The other member, Nicola Trotman is currently overseas and therefore could not attend the presentation ceremony.

Prime Minister Nagamootoo, who holds the portfolio for public information, explained that there is much work to be done at the state-owned media to ensure that they operate not only as a viable business but fulfill their mandate to let the people know what the government is doing.

The appointment of the GNNL’s new board of directors is effective from June 5, 2019.
