The PPP/C Government is in the process of setting a date for the reconvening of Parliament. This is according to Vice-President, Hon. Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo.
“I know there has been a proposal explored for the Arthur Chung Conference Centre,” the Vice-President stated when asked about the matter on Friday.
Dr. Jagdeo said this was being done to minimise the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.
Just last week, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance, the Hon. Gail Teixeira, noted the same, while also stating that everything must be done to reduce the risk of infection to both staff and Parliamentarians.
To this end, there would also be a reduced number in staff and invitees during the Parliamentary sitting, Minister Teixeira noted.

The seating arrangements for Ministers and MPs will be in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines.
In the meantime, as he spoke on Friday, the Vice President told the nation to expect a National Emergency Budget in about twenty-one days.
