Newly-appointed Health Minister, Hon. Dr Frank Anthony, met with the representative of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations (UN), Ms. Gillian Smith, and the British High Commissioner to Guyana, Greg Quinn at his Brickdam, Georgetown office on Monday.
During her courtesy call, Ms. Smith and Minister Anthony discussed areas of mutual interest.
They also explored how the FAO can support the country’s expanding health agenda. In addition to their work in agriculture, FAO’s expertise and support cover nutrition and food safety.
Meanwhile, High Commissioner Quinn, during his visit, highlighted some of the UK’s ongoing support to Guyana’s health sector.
