Minister McKoy visits NCN Berbice

—as State Media inspections continue

Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister, with responsibility for Public Affairs, Hon. Kwame McKoy, visited the National Communications Network (NCN) in New Amsterdam, Berbice, today.

The Minister is inspecting the Berbice branch, as part of examining the company, to offer better services to the viewers.

Also present at the meeting were NCN CEO (ag), Michela Abraham-Ali and the Manager of the Berbice Branch, Donna Mathoo.

Mathoo stated that the Branch needs updated equipment, which she said has been a continuous issue since she became manager in 2015.

She also elaborated that location has been a major issue for the Branch and she believes that relocation is necessary for going forward.

Minister McKoy said that the Branch can expect support from the Ministry in terms of staff training and the installation of a Board that will examine issues of and help find solutions on the way forward.

Further, he said that the company also has to seek innovative ways to appeal to a larger customer base and find creative techniques to keep viewers in tuned.
