─ Youths must take advantage of business opportunities.
─ Youths must stay motivated.
DPI, Guyana, Saturday, February 9, 2019
Minister of Business, Dominic Gaskin in an interview with the Department of Public Information (DPI) on Friday said that the Ministry of Business is readily available to offer assistance to young people of Guyana who are business oriented and motivated.
The Minister made this comment during his visit to several small business owners, who are loan and grant recipients of the Small Business Bureau, in Region Six.
“In life, you can either work for someone or work for yourself and become big enough to hire other people. Young people have a number of options…,” Minister Gaskin said.
The Business Minister said that young persons who do not have the wherewithal to acquire their own business must seek employment. He urged youths to be disciplined in their approach to employment and seek out several trades which can contribute to their household and the communities.
Minister Gaskin reiterated that the Ministry of Business has set out several programmes to assist young people to acquire the requisite knowledge to start up their own businesses. These initiatives he said, are aimed at reducing the level of unemployment in Guyana. He added that his Ministry is committed to educating youths in Business practices through positive initiatives which will provide extensive training along with loans and grants for those with business plans.
“You have one turn at life and it is important that young people do something that they like. Once youths start something they like, then that is all the motivation they need,” Minister Gaskin said
