GPOC announces early payment of August pensions

The Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC) has announced that the payment of Old Age Pension for August 2020 will begin on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at all Post Offices countrywide.

The recently implemented alphabetised system using surnames will be employed only used during the first five payment days of the month at Post Offices in Regions 2,3,4,5,6 and 10.

Seniors will receive payment as follows

Tuesday, July 28, 2020 – Surnames beginning with the letters A to D

Wednesday, July 29, 2020 – Surnames beginning with the letters E to K

Friday, July 31, 2020 – Surnames beginning with the letters L to P

Monday, August 3, 2020 – Surnames beginning with the letters Q to T

Tuesday, August 4, 2020 – Surnames beginning with the letters U to Z

Senior citizens will be allowed to cash l be allowed to cash their coupon on any day after the fifth payment day.

The GPOC in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Protection continues to implement systems protect the country’s senior citizens and contain the spread of COVID-19.

Therefore, in keeping with the health and safety protocols, the GPOC will enforce physical distancing between individuals accessing their services.

This measure limits the number of individuals who can enter the Post Office at any given time. Persons visiting their offices are asked to wear protective masks and sanitise their hands before entry.

The GPOC assures that their public areas are also sanitised regularly throughout the day.
